This case of study has a purpose of analysing the social representations regarding the playing according to 197 scholars of Pedagogy at UFMT, Cuiaba campus. Therein, the theoretical references used were the Social Representation Theory by Serge Moscovici (1978) and the Central Core Theory by Jean-Claude Abric (1998) in dialogues with Winnicott's contributions (1975; 2005) regarding the matters related to playfulness. Data collection was based upon the Word's Association technique. Processing was done through two softwares: Ensemble de Programmes Permetettant l'Analyse des Evocations (EVOC), which allowed clarification regarding how the social representation contents that are being investigated are structured, and the Cohesive Hierarchical Implicative Classification (CHIC), which through the classic implicative analysis allowed noticing a relation between the evoked terms. Therefore, allowing understand the possible pathways to discussion. The results indicate that the representation which the undergraduate has, as to playing, is had in a positive form and idealized. In the peripheral system it was also found the presence of a discourse which is organized by the insertion of academic contents, fact which could characterize the cognitive polyphasia phenomena.
