标题：Comportamento epidemiológico da hanseníase no município de Pombal - PB Epidemiologic behavior of leprosy in the city callded Pombal state of Paraíba
摘要：Leprosy is a disease that has existed for over twenty centuries and
still affects people today, with high prevalence, especially in
developing countries. Given this reality, the World Health
Organization together with the Ministry of Health, set targets for the
control of leprosy in 1/10.000 inhabitants. In this context, the State
of Para¨ªba there is cases with significant rates. Thus, this research
aimed to identify the epidemiological characteristics of leprosy in
the city of Pombal, State of Para¨ªba. This is an epidemiological
study,. We take as universe of search a city called Pombal inserted
in IV Health Macro-Region, which was developed as secondary
source next to the Municipal Department of Health. After submitting
to the Ethics Committee of the Center of Health Sciences UFPB,
the study was approved. Data were collected using an instrument
with variable epidemiological inserted in the above basis, taking into
account the information needed to answer the purpose proposed.
The data were statistically analyzed and subsequently presented.
The results show in all cases from 1984 to 2006. The therapeutic
outcome was significant, reflecting the success of
polychemotherapy and the performance of the Family Health
Teams, that had increasing the active search improving the
information system, highlighting the commitment of nurses in
contributing to achieving the targets set by government bodies.
