摘要:The yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, contains four types of histones resembling histones H3, H2b, H2a, and H4 of animal cells. These proteins are synthesized primarily, if not exclusively, in the S-phase of the cell cycle. This result is discussed with reference to the insensitivity of ongoing DNA replication in yeast to inhibitors of protein synthesis.
