摘要:THE CRISIS IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD has spilled over
into the lives of the world¡¯s poorest. Because of the crisis,
poverty is higher in most developing countries, although the
impact is greater in some countries than in others, due to differences
in their dependence on foreign trade, investment
and remittances. Differences in pre-crisis savings rates and
in the accumulation of foreign reserves also mean that some
countries are facing more severe fiscal adjustment problems
than others. While some countries have had scope for a fiscal
stimulus, others have not.
