摘要:This essay shows how Marxism, despite its atheist
pretensions, was influenced by Scripture, particularly the Millenarian
concept presented in the Book of Revelation. Marx¡¯s metaphysics
described the world as a titanic struggle between the bourgeoisie and
the proletariat. He predicts this struggle between good and evil will end
in the triumph of the righteous, leading to future paradise when
humanity returns to its pristine state. Marx contended it was his study
of history and ultimately his discovery of the universal laws of
economics that allowed him to predict the course of humanity, but I
argue Marx¡¯s real source is not history or science, but Scripture. Before
demonstrating Marx's Millenarianism, this essay begins with an
overview of the idea and describes how the concept was popular among
German intellectuals in Nineteenth Century.
