摘要：The public language used by television journalists
affects the language of society , thus it should
be prestigious. The accomplished research demonstrated
that journalists not always stick to the
main pronunciation norms of general language. In
this article the typical pronunciation mistakes of
television journalists are raised, some questions
of the right pronunciation training are discussed.
The shortening of unstressed long vowels and the
monophthongization of concurrent diphthongs
ie, uo in pre-accent and post-accent syllables are
especially intolerable. The National Committee of
Lithuanian Language proclaimed those pronunciation
mistakes as the biggest language mistakes. This
work at first could be topical for the representatives
of spoken media, students who study phonetics of
lithuanian language, lithuanian language teachers
and all speakers who attempt to develop their pronunciation
and speak prestigious language.
