摘要:The article is intended to the problems of dialectal morphology. In this article the stems of the adjectives of Joniškėlis’ subdialect (Eastern Highlanders Panevėžiškiai) are described. The main differences between forms of all cases and the general language are discussed. Such conclusions are drawn: 1) the adjectives with the a (f. ā) and a (f. ā) stems are best preserved 2) all stems of adjectives of the plural feminine and masculine forms of Dative are shortened forms of dual number 3) the bi-vocal inflections of all stems from singular and plural of Locative case are changed into mono-vocal 4) masculine gender singular Dative of the stems a (f. ā) and a (f. ā) is marked with the circumflex accent and coincides with shortened form of singular Locative case 5) in the subdialect of Joniškėlis u (f. ā) stem is one of the most unproductive; the singular Genitive of the adjectives with the u (f. ā) stem can be twofold in the subdialect: next to the u stem sometimes new forms with the endings of the a / a stem occur; the feminine gender singular adjectives with the stem u (f. ā) of instrumental case (su) plačià has different form in the dialect (mostly used form is not with the usual –č but with –t: sọ plàь skəь àẹь nikọr ne.ь ~ sù platià suknià àš niẽkur nesiu).
