摘要:The use of analogies in the process of teaching provides a positive contribution to the learning process in general. In the research, it was aimed to determine pre-service science teachers’ view of the usage of analogy and their competency to practice analogy. Throughout the application, they were taught what the analogy is and how it is done and they were expected to prepare analogy. Qualitative research data collection tool consisted of 17 open-ended questions aimed to assess the thoughts concerning the usage of analogies and teaching process; quantitative data consists of 20 items out of which 4 are likert-type that determines the competency to apply the analogies. Out of the responses obtained, they stated that analogies should be used to eliminate misconceptions, to join the social life with science and they noted that they require effort and attention and the knowledge of the person should be sufficient.
