摘要:Exposure to years of intense athletic training and flexion postures has been associated to changes in sagittal spinal curvatures. The aim of this study was to compare the sagittal lumbar curvature between elite cyclists and non-athletic population. A total of 60 elite cyclists and 68 non-athletic subjects (age: 23.2 ± 4.5 years) were recruited. The Spinal Mouse® was used to measure the sagittal lumbar spine in usual upright posture, slumped sitting and maximal trunk flexion in sitting (flexed and straight knees). The cyclists reported greater lumbar flexion in all measures, although no statistical differences were found between both groups in upright posture and slumped sitting. In conclusion, the seated posture in the bicycle may influence the sagittal lumbar curvature in maximal trunk flexion.
