摘要:Started in 1963 in Dallas, the Texas Symposia on Relativistic Astrophysics have become one of the leading international conference series in the field of Relativity, Cosmology and Gravitation. The most recent, 25th Texas Symposium (Texas 2010) was held in Heidelberg, Germany, during December, 6-10, 2010. More than 350 astrophysicists attended a very successful meeting, designed to exchange ideas and results, and to discuss future directions in Relativistic Astrophysics. A wide range of scientific results were discussed in about 100 oral and about 200 poster contributions during nine parallel afternoon sessions and one highlight evening session. We are happy to publish them together in these proceedings. The invited plenary talks are published as a special volume of the American Institute of Physics (AIP) Conference Proceedings. Further information and details, including the full conference program, can be found on the conference webpage http://www.mpi-hd.mpg.de/texas2010/ The meeting was made possible by the generous financial support of the Max Planck Society (MPG), the Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik (MPIK), the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and the Klaus-Tschira Foundation, as well as kind sponsorship by Struck Innovative Systeme (Hamburg), Springer Verlag and Cambridge University Press. We express our gratitude to all LOC members from MPIK, in particular A. Förster, for their assistance in successfully running all parallel sessions, and to the SOC and the session chairs for all organizational work involved.
