摘要:Populism on the rise – the 2011 parliamentary election in Finland. The results of 2011 Eduskunta election broke several historical records. For the first time in the history, the conservative National Coalition Party ended up as the winner of the elections. The election resulted in a breakthrough for the populist True Finns while every other parliamentary party in mainland Finland lost popularity. The total turnout rose in comparison to the previous election. After the elections, the six parties (excluding ex-agrarians and True Finns) came to an agreement on forming a coalition government, led by Katainen and consisting of 19 ministers.
