摘要:There is a growing interest in Turkey in the use of International Standards and in being involved in the development process of the standards on fresh, dry and dried fruits and vegetables. All interested parties in the country such as public and private scientific laboratories, exporters’ unions and associations are involved in the standards development process. Turkey ranks third in the world as an exporter of fresh fruits and vegetables, with the European Union its most important market for exports. Turkish exporters, that have now reached the figure of 40, are paying special attention to International Standards to ensure their trade is as smooth as possible. Exporters enjoy a close relationship with growers, the warehouse, packaging and processing firms. Participation in ISO’s standardization work is therefore important to the country.
