摘要：A copper sphere, the first pressure vessel as we would recognize it in the 21st century, was manufactured more than 150 years ago in the middle of the 19 th century – 1852 to be precise – to be used in conjunction with a type of breathing apparatus. It was manufactured using a brazing technique. Such copper spheres were subsequently widely used for storing low-pressure gases on account of the vast knowledge gained over many centuries of successfully working with copper components.
