摘要：River transport operations stand for a significant component pertaining to the material production activities, which, through their commodity movement role, has a decisive influence on the other branches of world economy, including the international trade. Their development along with the upsurge of harbour services must be considered in accordance with the environment. Therewith, the connection between the economic coordinates and all other components of the macroeconomic framework has to be emphasized. The lasting development desiderata, inasmuch as river transport activities and harbour activities are concerned, are liable to be achieved only if society requirements are correlated with the environmental capacity to stand the volume of these prerequisites, concomitantly with ensuring an optimum level of the economic presence in ecosystems, depending on the capacity to regenerate the raw material output and recycle the waste input.
