摘要:The present paper analyzes the most relevant variables that influence the declared number of accidents in the automobile insurance sector. In the process of determination of these factors, we focus on the possible significant differences we can find on the insured drivers´ behaviour depending on the region they come from: Andalusia or the whole of the rest of the Spanish territory. This is the main objective of our research. In order to achieve this purpose, an econometric analysis is provided using a database from a private insurance company and a zero-inflated negative binomial model, that estimate the number of registered accidents. In our study, the observed zero values of the endogenous variable can have different meanings. Zero-inflated models, belonging to the count data type of models, can undertake this question.
