摘要:In regards to the existence of significant hydrographic routes, water transportation has become the most efficient means of transportation, as compared to other alternatives, and it can be conducted in high flow rivers by using barges. The barge system requires the public/private co-participation and assessment of the economic and environmental impacts. On the other hand, the importance of ro-ro ships that speed up port operations and lower costs is highlighted, achieving an efficient combination of means. All these means of transportation must be articulated within an integral system that considers the potential of the region which takes into account the most relevant geo-strategic centers and bio-ocean connections. As an example, we show the main characteristics of Bermejo river, its major basic canals and its socio-economic impact. The creation of locks has resulted a in great efficiency: for instance, the unloading through a turbine can also be used to level out locks. Notable examples of national and international use of rivers are: rivers such as the ones in Germany, the Rhine and its complex system of tributaries, the Dutch canals, the interconnection of rivers Loire, Seine, Garma, Saône, Rhône and Rhine. Consequently, we are making progress in the standardization of barge building, with Belgium a notable example. Nowadays, there is a project for constructing barges in Rosario. Below is an economic comparison of different means of transportation:
