  • 摘要:Professional doctorates have attracted criticism in a recent Australian government report: many such doctorates are reported to be almost indistinguishable from conventional PhD programs. In this paper we describe the Doctor of Education (EdD) degree at the University of New England and detail features of this degree that brand it as a professional degree. A key emphasis is the learning that occurs in the workplace. Recent evaluation of the EdD at UNE has been very favorable with students claiming to have gained significant professional benefits.
