摘要：The paper deals with the appearance and development of the religious (pilgrimage) tourism in Međugorje. The considered time frame is from it's begginings in 1981 to the year 2000. The emphasis is on the apparitition's reflection on national and international tourism as well as on the intesive changes in the local landscape. Most apparent is the expansive development of the tourist oriented infrastructure in the Međugorje – Bijakovići community, especcially in the 1984-1989 period.
