摘要：Between 8 July and 19 July, 1987, the World University Games were held in Zagreb. Universiade ’87 resulted in various long-term benefits for the city. Despite the fact that it occurred at a time of economic and political crisis in the former Yugoslavia, Zagreb experienced a renewal of urban infrastructure. With wide media coverage and a rich cultural programme, Universiade offered and excellent opportunity to promote not only Zagreb and Croatia, but also Yugoslavia. Primarily as a cultural event, Universiade ’87 is considered the largest sporting event ever held in Croatia.
