摘要：The aim of this study was to determine whether differences exist between persons with elevated clinical scales in personality inventory after a stroke and persons without elevation on clinical scales, according to demographic characteristics, the time that has passed since the stroke, the frequency of earlier psychiatric disorders, the inability to carry out a former profession, the presence of a hemiparesis and an aphasia, the lateralization and localization of a brain lesion, the level of intellectual, mnestic and executive functions, in order to see whether certain psychosocial variables or lesion related factors contribute to a larger extent to the development of psychopathological symptoms. Participants in this study were 73 persons with stroke, who had been sent to a general hospital for neuropsychological examination. Based on the results on the MMPI-201 the participants were divided into two groups: those with elevated clinical scales (N=39) and without elevation on clinical scales (N=34). Statistically significant differences between groups were found in results on Digit span, work status and lateralization of lesion. The group of persons with elevated clinical scales included more persons with bilateral lesions. The results indicate the significance of certain negative life events in psychopathological deviations after a stroke and that psychopathological deviations are not associated only with clinical variables even though it seems that bilateral lesions increase the risk of psychopathological deviations.
