摘要:In this article we analyze the attitude of the political establishment toward the scientifically proven problem of anthropogenic global warming and climate changes. Both global warming and climate changes are mainly caused by the political and economic interests of developed nations. Political institutions on the global level have shown inability in solving these problems. Those institutions aren't incapable 'per se', but are, under the influence of profit, neglecting the public interest of resolving climate changes. In the article we have shown the longlasting course of identifying these problems by the scientific community that should lead the policy makers in creating strategies for mastering the problems. Although some shifts have been made in the political field on local or national level, greater ones are still expected. By analyzing the developed nations of the world (USA, Canada, European Union, Australia), we tried to show both positive and negative examples of approaching the problem of climate changes, and the tight connection between the political and economic systems, which has as its consequence the direct influence on policy makers in bringing strategies for stopping climate changes both on the national and global levels.
