  • 摘要:The problems of agricultural production, especially human food, is one of the biggest world problems. Statistics show a dizzy increase of world population with especially stressed trend in non-developed countries, which are at the same time the least adequate food producers. There is an uneven relation in the world food production, thus contemporary world could be soon faced with the task how to solve it. Food becomes restrictive resource necessary for human existence. Scientifically looking, history has shown that human mind has been always successful in catching with world problems. It is reasonable to believe that this would be also the case with food. Based on contemporary technique and agronomics, unused land resources in the world will be exploited, and there are also many food sources which can feed in a high degree the expected numerous population in the future. The scientific progress in chemistry, biology, agronomics etc., will surely enable the appearance of new food sources that we don’t even think about today. Future brings prosperity, as well as some negative tendencies (environment pollution) connected with agriculture and food production. That becomes a priority, in order not to imperil the survival of humanity. The Republic of Croatia is an active participant of these processes. It has qualitative soil and all conditions for production of increasingly demanded “healthy food”. It is necessary to intensify the agricultural production, and by measures of macroeconomic policy influence the structure of existing agricultural production, initiate the return of the youth to agriculture, and create conditions for qualitative and cheap food production. These are the prerequisites for development of our tourism and food exports, as our strategic development goals.
