摘要：In this paper the author suggests the necessity of tourism analysis as an activity which represents significant developmental chance for faster economic development of Croatian islands. In his consideration he points out advantages and restrictions for economic development at this space, taking into account the results of recent empirical researches. Tourism which nowadays exists at our islands, definitely does not offer all what visitors, tourists, expect at islands. Pointing out the complexity of tourism development at islands, theauthor especially emphasizes the impossibility of application of the unique model of tourist and economic development for all islands, and suggests the necessity of comprehension of each island group or island separately, taking into consideration the efforts for revival of this space as a whole but with a special emphasis on its economic prospect.
