摘要：This article identifies what can be called the “modern” Latin grammar in Croatia, exemplified by the Latinska gramatika (Gortan, Gorski and Pauš, 1954). This is the grammar written by the method which was introduced and established in Croatia in three stages during the 19th century. The method (ultimately medieval) used before is outlined, as well as the transition to the “modern” one. The article also discusses the term “modern” itself, regarding the development of linguistics in the 20th century.
