摘要：This article presents an analysis of German family names in Zagreb and Zagreb County. For the adapted family names the models of orthographic and phonological adaptation and regularities are identified, whereas family names that have retained their original form are classified according to semantic categories. A parallel is drawn between the corpus of German family names collected in Zagreb and the corpus of family names of German origin in Osijek-Baranja County. The number and frequency of German family names in the Croatian counties examined are compared to the most common family names in Germany and Austria.
