摘要：The work is an attempt to shed light on relation between traditional and contemporary ethnology in Croatia. Taking Gavazzi's theoretical statements as a starting point the author tries to reply to the criticism which newer Croatian ethnology has directed to the older one. Attention is called to the need of redefining the relation between two major ethnological tendencies in order to pave the new way to the development of this science in Croatia.
