  • 摘要:ln the village of Lištane in the Livno Field, at the archaeological site of Podvornice (or the Sv. Ruta church), systematic archaeological excavations were performed twice (in 2001 and 2002). 71Je/'e were discovered remains of a paleo-Christian basilica with a baptisingfom, dated to the 5th l6th centuries. Next to these archl tecIural finds, there bas been explored a medieval cemeleJY with 66 graves, as well. Particularfinds from the Roman and late classical epoques con/inn the conlinuity ofthe Site from tbe lst!2nd to the 15th century. The Site has not been completely excavated, and as a contribution to fU/ther studies, the paper analyses a pair of iron equestrian spurs found in the grave G-l. In the same grave, an iron fastener has been found, most probably part ofthe spI used for fixing tbe said spurs. Themain typological characteristics oftbe spurs are the straigbt arms connected semi-circularly in tbe arch apex, small rectangular plates at the end of the amIS, each of tbem perforated wilh two longitudinal boles, and a double-pyramid shaped spike, fitted in the middle of the apex and aligned with the straight line of the anns. Accepting the present proposed tJpological development of spurs with all their!unctional modifications, and similar to some other pieces found in tbe wider area, the spurs ofLištane belong to tbe Postcarolingian cultural circle, ln particular to tbe last group after the IJPology and chronology as established by some autbars. They are dated to tbe second half of tbe lOth or the first balf of the llth centuries, with possible spreading throughout the 11 th century. Traces of silver on the surface and palticular treatment of tbe spurs indicate /1wre lavisb workmanship and an outstanding me/Ilber of the community of the Lirno d,strict, tben in tbe medieval Croatian Slate. The spurs are assumed to have been imported from Croatian-Dalmatian workshops, but it is also pOSSible that a local workshop pmducing such spurs was already eslablisbed in the Livno field area.
