摘要：In this paper we set out to illustrate the workings of some basic cognitive mechanisms in the process of interpreting English verb conversions. Given the flexible methodological principles of cognitive linguistics, we will argue that it is fully equipped to account for the full complexity of the meanings of such verbs.
