摘要：The article analyses the main characteristics of the slot charter agreement in maritime transport of cargo stored in ship containers. The article analyses the purpose and aims to be attained by the making and realization of the agreement. The author defines the place of the slot charter agreement within the systematisation of agreements on the use of ships in the Croatian law. Different sub-types of the agreement are analysed. Specific legal issues related to this type of agreement are elaborated. Principal rights and obligations of the carrier and charterer as parties in the agreement are analysed. Mutual legal relations between the parties in the slot charter agreement and third parties are presented, especially the liability for cargo damage. The most frequent agreement clauses are analysed in detail. The author concludes that different types of slot charter agreement have a great importance in the development of modern maritime transport of cargo. These agreements will be increasingly frequent in the future. Therefore it will be necessary to find the best legal solutions in practice and legislation for controversial issues.
