摘要：In September 2004 Croatia ratifi ed the Budapest Convention on the Contracts for the Carriage of Goods by Inland Waterways of 2000 (inforced 1 April 2005). As a result, in the Republic of Croatia the new Inland Waterways Navigation and Ports Act was enforced 1 November 2000. That Act expressly emphasizes the application of the above-mentioned Convention also in the national carriage of goods in inland waterways. The author analyses the specifi c main characteristics of the Budapest Convention with regard to the liability of the carrier.
