摘要：During the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century Osijek was one of the most important towns in Croatia. Some parts of its economic life even gave it a distinguished place in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. In the middle of the 19th century Croatia went from the old feudal judicial system to a new system in which administration, at least in principle was separate from the judiciary. The authors of this paper present the course of court reforms in the judicial system of Croatia paving particular attention to Osijek and Slavonia during the second half of the 19th century. Then the authors deal with the problem areas of the judicial systems in Osijek and Slavonia in the first decades of the 20th century up till the end of the World War Two.
