摘要：Progress in medical science and praxis in contemporary tehnologically developed society brings increased number of errors made by medical practioneers during medical treatments, as well as greater number of iatrogenic deseases and injuries. Professional medical liabilitry insurance helps physicians as well as other medical stuff members to alleviate economical risks of their profession, and enables them to preform their professional duties freely and at their best. This paper will display »de lege lata» contemporary croatian professional medical liability insurance legislation, comparative overview of other countries medical liability systems as well as try to propose ”de lege ferenda” new posibilities to improve existing croatian system by implementation of mandatory medical liability insurance.
