摘要:Curriculum is one of the most important aspects of education as the education system corresponds to curriculum. Therefore, how to practice the curriculum carries huge importance. Understanding and practicing of the curriculum by the teachers is an essential rule in order to have a good education process.This study is related with the new primary curriculum (6, 7, and 8 grades) implemented in Turkish National Education System in Turkey in 2004-2005 Education year. In order to collect data for this study, a questionnaire consisted of open-ended questions related to courses was developed and administered to 33 teachers in February 2009. A total 33 social science teachers participated in this research. The teachers taught in different schools of Konya city. After collecting teachers’ responses about the implementation of the new curriculum, all views were grouped to analyze in pros and cons for the new curriculums.In 6th and 7th grades there is an insufficiency of geography subjects. And in 8th grade there is no geography subject. We come across the implementation of private classroom for the course as a most emphasized and a most wanted subject. While practicing the geography subjects in social sciences courses, the insufficiency of the necessary course equipments (sphere, map etc.) and also technological equipments (computer, data show etc.) is one of the most important factor that affects the performance of the education negatively. Some of the teachers saying “need of technological support for the schools” are the problems arising from computer using.One of the biggest problem in the practice of curriculum by the teachers who are the biggest missioners for the practice of the curriculum is their being non-adaptation to the innovations, being unable to comprehend and practice the system and not to follow the technological innovations (computer, internet etc.).
