The aim of the study was to find out how much feel alcohol addicts meaningful in their life and if they vary in this degree from ordinary population. Next focus of research was on question, if there is a quantitative difference in this feeling between the state at the beginning and the state in the end of the treatment. Research was conducted on 62 alcohol addicts who undergo medical treatment in chosen psychiatric clinics in Czech and Slovakia republic. For data collecting was used standardized questionnaire Logo-test (Balcar, 1992) with “common population” values construct on a sample of 121 university students. Results of the research prove that the alcohol addicts did statistically significant vary from ordinary population in the feeling meaningful in their life. The significant difference was found as well between the state at the beginning and state in the end of the treatment. 39 % of patients have improved, 13 % have become worse and 48 % haven’t change.
