摘要:One of the goals of science education, as described in the national standards, is to develop scientific inquiry. "Scientific inquiry refers to the diverse ways in which scientists study the natural world and propose explanations based on the evidence derived from their work." (National Research Council, 1996, p. 23). We want our children to wonder about the world, examine the world, and develop ways of understanding the world. Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, a 17th Century Mexican nun, is a role model for our children, and her story can build their interest in scientific inquiry. Who was this woman, and why do we need to know her?
