摘要：By its complexity, daily mining activity of lignite in the county of Gorj, produces multiple and diverse negative effects on the environment, and also on the population from surrounding areas. In preventing illness from exposure to various air pollutants, prophylaxis has a special importance. In this regard, has to be taken into account the maintaining of the concentration of toxic substances in the environment below the maximum permissible concentration (CMA) from STAS.Respiratory tract is the most exposed to harmful air pollutants and air stimuli (allergens and cold air); respiratory system consists of upper airway (nose, pharynx and larynx) and lower airway (trachea, bronchi and alveoli); trachea, bronchi and lungs are intra-thoracic organs, internal, which due to their tubular structure, communicate directly with the atmosphere and the outside world, being exposed to pollutants existing in the atmosphere.
