摘要:This study explores process of job burnout based on a case study conducted on trainee doctors in Lady Willington Hospital, Lahore. The study builds arguments from Job Demand-Resource (JD-R) model and explains the process in light of Conservation of Resource (COR) theory. Qualitative research methodology has been adopted in which data is collected through three focus group discussions and twenty-one semi-structured in-depth interviews. The procession development of job burnout syndrome is explored and presented in a model in which emotional exhaustion is found to be the first stage of burnout leading to depersonalized approach of doctors towards patients and colleagues which generate feelings of diminished self accomplishments. Theoretical and practical implications of findings are discussed.
