摘要：In the present work, the first results obtained in the cariologic analysis of the subspecies Sciurus vulgaris segurae of the province of Albacete (Spain) are exposed. The analysed animals present a diploid number 2n = 40, NF a = 76. The X chromosome of these animals presents common morphology to the one observed in three animals presents common morphology to the one observed in three species of Northamerican squirrels and in the genre Citel/us of Central Europe. The submetacentric chromosome Y also coincides with the morphology showed by the animals of the European populations previously mentioned.i
