摘要:Land movements are natural phenomena that affect the evolution of landforms and cause damage of social, physical and economical order. The main objective of the present study is to identify the different types of mass movements that occurred in San Pedro river basin- Nova Friburgo municipality- in January, 2012, and to correlate them with the types of vegetal covering and frequency and intensity of rainfalls. Points of mass movement were georeferenced using high precision PROMARK3 GPS and, later a digital elevation model (DEM) of the basin was prepared associated to a map of land use. Daily rainfall data was obtained through conventional rain gauges and those from the THIES TLX-MET Automated Weather Station. From the 33 scars mapped in the basin (23.71 km2 ), 17 are on forest area (12.8 km2) , 06 in areas of conventional agriculture (3.6 km2), 08 in fallow areas (0.9 km2), 01 in pasture area (1.9 km2) and the rest represent urban area, rocky outcrop and clouds/shadows totaling (4.37 km2). The mass movements mapped are related to translational slides and mass flows. Data demonstrates that November and December, 2010 and January 2011 presented precipitation values above the mean. On 11/01/2011 there was a precipitation of 209 mm, representing 63% of the precipitation of that month. The most important rainfall that caused the landslides was between 21:50 h (11/01) and 7:10 h (12/01) reaching a total of 145.2 mm. The mass movements that occurred in the region are related to a high precipitation index and antecedent soil moisture.
