摘要:The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants of bank profitability and the relation between noninterest (nonprofit) income and bank performance for an emerging market, Turkey. The data set of the study is the 6 years data between 2005-2010 of the banks in question. In this study impact of capital adequacy, size of bank, credit rate, credit provision rate and general expenses on bank performance indicators are undertaken. At the end of analyses made it has been concluded that these variables in question have an impact on bank performance. The results show that capital adequacy, size and credits increase the bank performance whereas general expenses decrease it. Also it has been observed that performance of participation banks are higher than that of commercial banks. Finally, it has been observed that noninterest income increases equity capital adequacy.
