摘要:This study evaluates the impact of silvopastoral systems on the water quality of the microbasins of rivers Bul Bul and Paiwas in Matiguás, Nicaragua. At cattle farms with silvopastoril systems, 9 creeks were selected, 5 of them protected by riparian forest, and 4 of them unprotected. At each creek, 2 monitoring spots were established: 50mts from the source, and at the cattle pasture lands. Water samples were collected and submitted to physico-chemical and bacteriological analyses. During the dry season, low levels of O2d (dissolved oxygen mg/L) were registered, with high levels of total water hardness (mg/L). The rainy season registered the highest levels of faecal coliforms. The other parameters evaluated were fit for human consumption. Significant differences were found for a (P<0,05) between seasons for O2D mg/L and total hardness mg/L.
