摘要:This study assesses the biological diversity of aquatic macroinvertebrates associated to the most common forms of land-use in the cattle farming zone of Matiguás. The forms of land-use studied were improved pasture with high tree density (PMADA), improved pasture with low tree density (PMBDA), riparian forest (BR), foraging bank (BF), and degraded pasture (PD). The effect of the different kinds of land-use on water quality was measured. To do this, 6 creeks were monitored in the Paiwas river microbasin, and 3 in the Bul Bul river. The total number of taxa found was of 15 Orders, predominantly Ephemeroptera (39%) and Diptera (18%); 51 Families and 82 Genre, of which 91% belonged to the Class Insecta. Regarding water quality, 3 groups were identified: organisms that indicate good water quality, organisms that indicate medium water quality, and organisms that indicate bad water quality. The protection component in the creeks was clue for biological diversity. Significant differences were evident (p<0,05) between the creeks with protection and those unprotected.
