摘要：David Livingstone Smith discussed his recent book, Less Than Human: Why we Demean, Enslave, and Exterminate Others, during his keynote address of the annual meeting of the NorthEastern Evolutionary Psychology Society in New Hampshire in the spring of 2012. His presentation left me uncomfortable; the language was different from what I was accustomed to and the content was difficult for me to assimilate with my preexisting knowledge. However, my curiosity was stimulated, and I decided to read his book in order to more fully comprehend his arguments. I am very glad that I did!
