摘要：Welcome to the rst issue of the rst volume of the Chilean Journal of Statistics (ChJS). The rst volume of the ChJS, which will have two numbers, pays tribute to Pilar Loreto Iglesias Zuazola (known as Pilar Iglesias in the scienti c world and as Pili or Pilarcita among her fans, friends and students). Pilar had as one of her ideals to recreate and remodel la Revista de la Sociedad Chilena de Estadstica (SOCHE) and to transform it as a reference in South America.
