摘要：La mayoría de la información ambiental que dispone la ciudadanía le ha llegado a través de los medios de comunicación. Son pocas las generaciones que han accedido a un temario de educación ambiental en la enseñanza reglada. Esta realidad provoca que instituciones y entidades de ámbito ambiental perciban en el ejercicio periodístico una herramienta muy interesante para este proceso formativo o educativo. Desde el ámbito periodístico, concretamente desde el Periodismo Ambiental, hay numerosas reacciones: una que niega la formación o la educación como una función propia; otra que la niega como función directa, pero la reconoce y valora como función indirecta; y otra que la defiende como función básica. En el presente artículo se propone que, ante la emergencia planetaria en el ámbito ambiental y el reto de una nueva cultura de la sostenibilidad, es enriquecedor que el Periodismo Ambiental asuma la función formativa incardinada en la función informativa.
其他摘要：Most of the environmental information available to the public has come through the media. Few generations have agreed to an agenda of environmental education in formal education. This reality causes, institutions and environmental level charged in the practice of journalism a very interesting tool for training or educational process. Since the journalistic field, particularly from Environmental Journalism, there are numerous reactions: one that denies training or education as a specific function, and another that denies direct function, but recognized and valued as indirect role, and another that defends basic function. In the present article proposes that, in the planetary emergency in the environmental field and the challenge of a new culture of sustainability, enriching Environmental Journalism assume the training function within the ambit of the reporting function.
