摘要:Upon accessing the labour market many graduates need to use English to communicate in professional situations and act strategically to adapt to new communicative situations. They also need to be digitally literate and be able to use the new types of texts and new forms of constructing meaning that are constantly emerging on the Internet. The WebQuest format (Dodge, 1995) affords the design of learning activities that can be integrated in an ESP course to help meet these needs. In Luzón and Ruiz-Madrid (forthcoming) a model of webtask which draws both on SLA principles and on research on digital textuality and new literacies is proposed. The purpose of this paper is to show how this model can be used to help students of ESP develop: (i) the discursive competences they will need to function effectively in an ever changing workplace context, (ii) learning autonomy, and (iii) new multiliteracy competencies.
