摘要:The purpose of this study was to find the effect of bicycle seat height variation on maximum power and to propose how to determine saddle height. Our proposal adjustments of the ergometer to suit the performer was the range of motion(ROM) at knee joint. The ROM at the knee varied from 30° to 70°: these five seat heights corresponded to 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°. The efficiency criterion was a power output test which required the subject to perform a preset load of 99 wat/min. Peddaling speed was 100rpm. The saddle heights of maximum power out put was 40° of knee flexion. But there was no significant difference at 30°, 40°, 50°, 60° at 5%. These seat heights' efficiency was equal. The efficiency was worse when seat height was more than 70° of knee joint at a significance level of 5%. We suggested the criterion of deciding saddle height was ROM of knee joint. It was a reasonable method.
