Análisis comparativo de las tesis de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas sobre América Latina leídas en las universidades españolas durante la década 2000-2009, respecto al periodo anterior. La fuente utilizada es la base de datos REDIAL-TESIS, cuyo contenido se actualiza periódicamente a partir de las consultas en otros productos especializados en este tipo de documentos (Teseo, Dialnet-tesis). Se presentan datos sobre número de tesis por año, su distribución temática por disciplinas y países tratados, la procedencia por universidades y la disponibilidad del texto completo en los repositorios o archivos abiertos. Los resultados muestran un extraordinario crecimiento en el número de tesis, que en 2010 se sitúa ya por encima de los 450 documentos anuales. La distribución temática ha variado también de forma notable, con un mayor peso de las Ciencias Sociales.

Analysis of the theses of SHS on Latin America approved by Spanish universities during the decade 2000-2009, compared to the previous period. The source used is the database REDIAL-TESIS, whose content is regularly updated by searching on other products, specialized in this type of documents (Teseo, Dialnet-tesis). The paper presents data on the number of theses per year, its subject distribution by disciplines and countries, the origin by universities and the availability of full text in repositories or open archives. The results show a remarkable growth in the number of doctoral dissertations, which in 2010 is already over the 450 documents per year. The subject distribution has also changed significantly, with a greater weight of the Social Sciences.
