摘要:A considerable amount of work has been done on the argument structure of nominalizations in general and of deverbal nouns in particular, much of it within the functionalist perspective. In general, these studies are more concerned with syntax and semantics than with pragmatics, which is considered the most encompassing domain of explanation in FG (Dik 1997a). Moreover, little effort has been devoted to the analysis of real conversational data, which are highly relevant for a functionalist approach. My aim in this paper is to interpret the argument structure of deverbal nouns giving priority to the pragmatic domain on the basis of a corpus of spoken Portuguese.
