摘要:Many studies have shown that family business has unique characteristics derived from the confluence of two systems: the company and the family. The objective of this research is to understand the unique behaviour of family businesses in relation to financing strategies, since, according to the literature, the concentration of ownership that characterizes these companies enables them to eliminate costs agency, the interest in transmitting a heritage to descendants enables that their sheets and profit and loss accounts do not have to provide a suitable image and their horizon of long-term investment is an important financial restriction. Thus, after the empirical study, we can draw several conclusions: there is a high concentration of ownership among family businesses in Extremadura, and it is necessary to seek a balance between the two systems of the company (family and business) in order to allow the company to take advantage opportunities offered by the market.
